To create/open a port exception on a remote Windows Firewall, such as Dameware using TCP port 6129. 1. Open RegEdit on the PC to which you're logged on. 2. From File > Connect Network Registry, select the computer whose firewall you need to adjust. (It's assumed that you have administrative rights on the remote computer.) 3. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\DomainProfile\GloballyOpenPorts\List 4. Create a new string (REG_SZ) value. Name it 6129:TCP 5. Give it the following value: 6129:TCP:*:Enabled:Dameware 6. Close RegEdit. 7. Run Dameware as you usually would and connect to the workstation.
